Empower Treatment is a dedicated mental health care agency specializing in youth and adult care in substance use disorder (SUD), and mental health services. Based in Portsmouth, Ohio, we provide a blend of in-person and remote therapy services to expand access to quality care for our community.

Job Duties

  1. Clinical Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' mental health and substance use challenges, formulating individualized treatment plans to address their unique needs. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions for youth and adults, including individual, family, and group sessions.
  2. Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment: Deliver specialized services for clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) issues, and mental health conditions. Engage clients in therapeutic processes aimed at recovery, relapse prevention, and mental health stabilization.
  3. Case Management: Oversee case management activities, including goal setting, treatment planning, monitoring progress, and advocating for client needs within the agency and through external services. This includes coordinating with other professionals involved in each client’s care.
  4. Community-Based Services: Provide a portion of therapeutic services in community settings as necessary to support client engagement and accessibility to care.
  5. Prevention and Community Education: Participate in community outreach, providing prevention and educational services under the guidance of clinical leadership. Engage with community organizations to raise awareness of mental health and substance use issues and empower community members with supportive resources.
  6. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation for each session and client interaction, adhering to agency standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for client confidentiality and care quality.
  7. Productivity and Schedule Adherence: Meet required productivity standards for direct client services and adhere to the assigned schedule, including availability for evening hours as needed to support client access.
  8. Collaboration and Resource Navigation: Build collaborative relationships with local service providers, agencies, and support systems to enhance available resources for clients. Remain knowledgeable about community resources to support holistic client care.
  9. Supervision and Professional Development: Participate actively in individual and group supervision sessions, engaging in regular feedback and development discussions. Attend required agency meetings and trainings to stay updated on best practices and advancements in mental health and substance use treatment.
  10. Client Safety and Advocacy: Recognize and respond to signs of abuse, trauma, or crisis situations, taking appropriate action in line with agency protocols. Advocate for client safety and access to additional services as needed.
  11. Developmental Sensitivity: Apply age-appropriate therapeutic strategies for youth clients, working with youth caseworkers, family members, and other care providers to address developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs effectively.
  12. Program Development: Assist with the development and enhancement of Empower Treatment’s therapy and support programs, contributing ideas to improve care quality and client outcomes.
  13. Ethical and Confidential Practice: Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of client care, with a clear understanding of boundaries and professional integrity.
  14. Outcome Evaluation: Participate in agency data collection and evaluation processes to measure client outcomes and improve service delivery based on feedback and findings.
  15. Other Duties as Assigned: Undertake additional responsibilities in line with the agency's mission and as directed by clinical leadership, supporting the needs of the Empower Treatment community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.

    Pay:
    $26–$30 per hour, based on provider license type and session types.
